Huge fire breaks out at North Yorkshire hospital | ITV News

Patients and staff have been evacuated after a huge fire at a hospital in North Yorkshire.
The blaze in a building at the Malton and Norton District Hospital site broke out on Wednesday morning, 8 July.
Several crews from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are on the scene.
In a statement, York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust said: “All patients and colleagues have been safely evacuated, and there are no reports of any injuries.
“We are working closely with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and other partner agencies to monitor the situation.”

Malton Urgent Treatment Centre was closed and patients were asked not to attend.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Residents and anyone nearby may notice large amounts of smoke. As a precaution, please keep all doors and windows closed.
“Please avoid the area at this time to allow emergency services access.”
