Forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard will remain with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for a second season after signing an American Hockey League (AHL) contract on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old spent the 2025-26 season signed to a one-year, two-way NHL contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins and spent the bulk of the campaign with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He was Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s third-leading scorer with 39 points (21 goals, 18 assists) in 66 games.
A left-handed shot, Harvey-Pinard (5-foot-9, 179 pounds) did appear in a single NHL contest last season. Recalled to the NHL club in mid-April, he made his debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins during the regular season finale, a 7-5 road loss to the St. Louis Blues. He logged 11:02 of ice time on 16 shifts and had two shots.
With Harvey-Pinard signed, forwards Kevin Hayes and Anthony Mantha remain the only unrestricted free agents who finished the 2025-26 season under contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins and have not signed new contracts.
Additionally, forward Valtteri Puustinen remains unsigned as a restricted free agent while forward Nick Robertson, who the Penguins acquired in a trade on July 1, remains unsigned as a restricted free agent as well.
Along with Harvey-Pinard, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton signed defenseman Ryan Mast and forward Hugh McGing to one-year AHL contracts.
