Diego Pavia to Alabama fan after loss: ‘I do whatever the f— I want’

Alabama football might have beaten Vanderbilt 30-14 on Saturday. But even the loss at Bryant-Denny Stadium couldn’t shut up Commodore quarterback Diego Pavia.

As Pavia left the field in Tuscaloosa, he got into a heated argument with an Alabama fan. The member of the crowd, dressed in a Crimson polo shirt was the one who began the altercation, shouting at Pavia from behind a barrier.

Pavia responded to the fan.

“I do whatever the f— I want,” Pavia repeatedly yelled over the wall.

Several other members of Vanderbilt’s team also yelled at the fan, who was evidently angry about Pavia grabbing his crotch in the direction of Alabama fans earlier in the game. The quarterback, who lost his first game against a college team from the state of Alabama on Saturday, finished 21-of-36 passing with 198 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Pavia, true to form as one of the most outspoken stars in college football, had talked plenty of trash throughout the offseason. He and the Commodores beat the Crimson Tide in Nashville last season.

After Saturday’s win, Alabama’s Tim Keenan was asked about the noise.

“We heard it,” Keenan said. “We still had to go play the game. So yeah.”

Keenan recovered Pavia’s fumble in the first half, a key play in the Crimson Tide’s victory. The QB finished the game with 12 rushing attempts for 58 yards.

Offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor was asked about the quarterback as well.

“I mean, that’s cool, he feels confident in his team and that’s great,” Proctor said. “But we obviously do too. We obviously feel confident in Alabama.”

Alabama will face Missouri on the road next week. The Commodores have an open date next Saturday, before facing LSU on Oct. 18.
