NORTHERN MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU) — A hot and humid start to the week for northern Michigan.

WEATHER WARN DAY is in effect for Monday and Tuesday due to the heat and humidity.

HEAT ADVISORIES have been issued for most of northern Michigan from M-55 and north, where heat indices in the upper 90’s and low 100’s will be possible Monday and Tuesday. These are currently in effect from Noon Monday through 8AM Tuesday.

EXTREME HEAT WARNING for Luce County from Noon to 10pm Monday.

EXTREME HEAT WATCH is in effect for Clare and Isabella counties from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening. Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values around 105F possible.

MONDAY (JUL 13): A shower or storm is possible early in the day, but then skies clear out with some more humidity. Highs of 85-97F.

TUESDAY (JUL 14): A fairly quiet day but still sunny, hot, and slightly muggy. Highs of 82-98F.

Drink plenty of water, use sunscreen and wear light-colored clothing, and avoid outdoor activities during the heat of the day.

Slightly less humid and slightly cooler conditions will move in for the middle and end of the week. Some storm chances move back in for the end of the week into next weekend.
