Great Western Air Ambulance leaves Dame Emily Park
The Great Western Air Ambulance landed in a busy South Bristol park on Monday evening, as a medical emergency saw paramedics and an on-board doctor rush to a stricken person.
The air ambulance landed at Dame Emily Park in Bedminster, just after 8.30pm on July 13, to enable medical help to get to a patient as quickly as possible.
Unconfirmed local reports suggest a person had got into difficulty and needed urgent medical attention at the Bristol South swimming pool, next to the park, and South West Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and an operations officer to the scene to assist the air ambulance crews.
In the event, the person who needed help was stabilised and taken to hospital in one of the land ambulances, with the air ambulance taking off some time later.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) declined to provide details of the exact location of the call-out, but said: “We were called at 20:37hrs on Monday 13 July to an incident in Bristol.
“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, and an operations officer to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Bristol Royal infirmary,” they added.
