Jack White’s Toronto Concert Poster Is Filled with Local Easter Eggs (and Angine de Poitrine)

Jack White releases a custom-designed poster for every tour stop, and for tonight’s Toronto show, he’s paying tribute to the city’s indie record shops — as well as opener Angine de Poitrine.

On Instagram, White shared the poster for this evening’s gig, writing that it was designed by Matthew Jacobson as “a tribute to the city and its independent record stores.”

It includes a message to “support Toronto area record shops,” and includes a list of 42 stores. Angine de Poitrine can be seen walking past an Ontario Place poster toward a door emblazoned with the Phono-Mat logo from Sonic Boom’s vinyl vending machine. A sticker on the door has a maple leaf and an “elbows up” slogan, while White’ name appears on what resembles the Sam the Record Man sign.

Other CanCon Easter eggs include a “Shop Ontario” logo, a spray-painted 416, a “TMR Royal Bank” designed like the logo from punk-friendly bank RBC, and what appears to be the white Trinity Bellwoods squirrel.

It was printed locally by the Paranoid Creative Collective.

Check out the poster below. It will be available at tonight’s show at RBC Amphitheatre.
