Bracknell Forest Council has approved a detailed car park management plan for KFC’s Bagshot Road drive‑thru, clearing the way for late night fast food.
Col. Saunders’ famous takeaway chain has already received approval for late night opening from the licensing committee but the planning committee has outstanding demands on the Kentucky colonel.
The letter of approval confirmed that the carpark management plan is acceptable to the local planning authority.
The document sets out how parking will be tightly managed between 11pm and 2am to protect neighbours from noise and disturbance, with orders taken only via the drive‑thru lane.
Under the plan, customers and delivery app drivers are not permitted to park within the site after 11pm, and staff must park in the southernmost aisle before the extended hours begin so that vehicles do not congregate close to nearby homes in Glebewood.
Automatic number plate recognition cameras will enforce a shorter maximum stay in the car park after 11pm, while signage, cones and retractable bollards will be used to cordon off areas and remind drivers they should not remain on site.

Staff will be expected to monitor the car park, asking any drivers who linger to leave swiftly and keep noise down, and the plan includes a review mechanism so it can be strengthened within a month if the council reports complaints.
With the parking management plan now approved, only any formal discharge steps on planning conditions remain before KFC can fully implement its extended opening hours.
