An urgent manhunt is underway for a “high risk” prisoner who has absconded from custody while being treated at a hospital.
Marwan Jumaa, who is currently serving a custodial sentence for assault, escaped after being transferred from a secure hospital facility to North Manchester Hospital for medical treatment.
Greater Manchester Police have warned the public that the 18-year-old man is deemed to be a risk to both himself and others.
He is described as a black male of skinny build with short, dark hair, and approximately 5ft 10 inches.
Jumaa is known to have connections in several parts of the country including Bury, Prestwich, Crumpsall, Leeds and London.

Detective Chief Inspector Abigail Cronin, from Greater Manchester Police, reassured the local community that a dedicated team is actively searching for Jumaa.
“We are urging anybody to come forward who may have information about Marwan’s whereabouts,” DCI Cronin said.
“I recognise that this may heighten concern within the community. However, I want to assure you that we have officers working around the clock to find Marwan and return him to hospital as soon as possible.
“If sighted, do not approach him, please call 999 immediately.”
Members of the public are strictly advised not to approach Jumaa if they spot him and instead told to call 999 immediately.
