Man hoping for a ‘little windfall’ celebrating after winning £77k Audi supercar

Mark Dunning from Winsford won a £77,000 Audi R8 V10 supercar through a BOTB competition.
He was surprised at his front door by BOTB presenter Christian Williams who arrived to deliver the news that Mark had won the high-performance vehicle.
A BOTB Pass member, the 61-year-old was automatically entered into a selection of competitions and had no idea he was a winner until the moment of the reveal.
Mark said: “It’s a complete and utter shock as I thought I was going for lunch.
“I’ve played for a number of years and this is the first time I’ve won anything.”
Christian guided Mark to the parked supercar and encouraged him to start the engine.
The reality of the win quickly sank in, with Mark becoming visibly emotional.
The timing of the prize was especially meaningful as Mark has faced significant health challenges in recent years.
He said: “This win means everything to me.
“I’ve had a few health issues, which has meant every day has been a bit of a struggle.”
The Audi R8 V10 is known for its balance of practicality and performance, delivering 533bhp in a luxury package.
Mark said: “It looks lovely and sounds fantastic.”
Despite the allure of the supercar, he is considering whether to keep the vehicle or opt for the tax-free cash alternative.
He said: “The cash would really take the pressure off.
“It would mean I could help the kids out, top up my pension, and help pay for a special holiday we’ve got coming up to Zanzibar.”
Christian said: “Mark’s reaction was incredibly moving.
“Just last week he’d told his wife he could do with a little windfall, so for us to turn up and reveal he’d won a £77,000 Audi R8 V10 was an amazing moment.
“His family did a brilliant job of keeping the surprise under wraps, and seeing everything finally sink in was really special.
“After hearing about the health challenges he’s faced in recent years, you couldn’t help but be delighted for him.
“Whether Mark decides to keep the Audi or take the cash alternative to help his family, it’s a fantastic prize and I hope it brings them many happy memories.”
BOTB, founded in 1999, has given away prizes to more than 792,000 people, including £162 million-worth of cars so far.
The company is currently running a competition to win a four-bedroom home in Winchester, two luxury cars and a £100,000 cash prize bundle, with entry costing just £1.
Mark’s reaction can be seen on BOTB.com alongside other recent winners.
