GBI issues search warrant for local mobile home center in connection to multi-state fraud investigation
APPLING COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) executed a search warrant at the Yurezz Home Center in Baxley on Thursday, according to a statement from the GBI.
The warrant was issued in connection to a fraud investigation spanning several states, wrote the GBI. This comes following last week’s arrest of Richard Altman, co-owner of Yurezz Home Center, on charges of illegal transmission of monetary funds in Louisiana.

The FBI’s Savannah Resident Agency is helping with the investigation, and other local and federal law enforcement partners assisted the GBI in executing the search warrant.
A lawsuit was also filed earlier this month by 21st Mortgage Corporation, one of the nation’s largest lenders in the manufactured home industry, against Richard and Heather Altman, the co-owners of Yurezz Home Center, alleging a dispute over financed inventory.

The GBI is now asking those who believe they were potential victims of Yurezz Home Center to come forward to aid in the investigation. Because of the complexity of the fraud investigation, the GBI said it is working to centralize the flow of information from potential victims.

When submitting information, include your name, contact number and a brief description of your complaint or business.
“We appreciate your patience as we manage the anticipated volume of complaints associated with this complex and ongoing investigation,” wrote the GBI in their statement.
