New stipulation added to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event tag team match

A new stipulation has been added to Saturday Night’s Main Event.
During a confrontation between Gunther and Adam Pearce on SmackDown, the Raw GM revealed something that made The Ring General happy: if he and Sami Zayn are successful at Saturday Night’s Main Event against Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, he and Zayn would be added to the WWE title match at SummerSlam, making it a fatal four-way. Gunther was happy with this news until Rhodes came down and the two ended up brawling to end the segment.
Last week saw a big change within the WWE title picture as Punk defeated Zayn to win the WWE Championship after Gunther attacked the number one contender, Rhodes, earlier in the night. The following Friday on SmackDown, Gunther demanded Nick Aldis fix the situation. When the SmackDown GM announced the SNME tag match, an enraged Gunther laid his hands on Aldis yet again, putting him in a chokehold.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (July 18) —
- CM Punk & Cody Rhodes vs. Sami Zayn & Gunther
- No disqualification: Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella & Paige defend against Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid)
- Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria
- Roman Reigns & Jalen Brunson appear
