Chicago air quality: Alert in effect for area from Canadian wildfire smoke with severe weather in forecast Monday

CHICAGO (WLS) — An Air Quality Alert remains in effect for the Chicago area Monday, with potential for severe weather in the evening.
The air quality alert is in effect until midnight.

ABC7 Accuweather Meteorologist Mark McGinnis said skies will remain smoky and hazy with highs in the upper 80s.
Air conditions in Wisconsin were worse than in Illinois Monday morning, and air quality in Illinois could deteriorate if the wildfire smoke moves south.
In the late afternoon and evening hours, McGinnis said strong to severe storms are forecast to move in from Wisconsin. Most of the Chicago area Level 2 risk with Level 3 risk for Wisconsin.
