Emmerdale has revealed which member of the village the secretive Serena Sugden is targeting next as her mysterious behaviour continues.
Newcomer Serena joined the soap last month, with West End star Casey Al-Shaqsy playing the newest member of the Sugden family. Since her arrival, Serena has been acting suspiciously, trying to gather information about the late John Sugden, who was killed by Victoria in the Corriedale special episode.

In Friday’s episode, former police officer Serena made a shocking exit after Aaron and Robert discovered that she had lied about when she last saw John. After Chas found photos on Serena’s phone of Serena with John from when John was on the run in December, Aaron and Robert asked her to leave.
In tonight’s episode (20 July), Kim discovered an intruder at Home Farm, so she armed herself with a shotgun. “Come out and you won’t get hurt,” she said before realising they had fled out the back door.
She ordered her tardy Head of Operations, Ross, to investigate and handed him a list of suspects.
Ross’ investigations got off to a bad start when he accused Moira of breaking in, and she sent him packing. He then accused Robert, prompting a heated discussion with an enraged Aaron and forcing Serena to intervene.
Once Ross had gone, Aaron asked Serena why she came back after he told her to leave, and Serena took the opportunity to give Robert a full explanation about John.
“John stayed with us when he left the army,” she explained. “So him turning up again wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.”
Serena said that they saw on the evening news that John was a wanted man, so they spoke to him, who said it was a mistake and that he was trying to help people.

When John told them that it was Robert who had framed him for murder, Serena said she and her mum felt sorry for him. John then vanished without a trace before they found out he died.
Her story was enough to persuade Robert to let her stay “a little while longer”, despite Aaron’s continued wariness.
Meanwhile, at Home Farm, Kim realised that a USB stick had been taken, and we later saw Serena using it to browse files, though she looked disappointed by what was on it.
