LIVE: Vegetation fire burns in Sunol Valley

A vegetation fire in the Sunol Valley prompted evacuation orders Tuesday afternoon as firefighters worked to contain the blaze, authorities said.

Cal Fire SCU reported the fire, dubbed the Little Fire, at about 2:54 p.m. near Little Valley Road and Hubbard Lane, south of Pleasanton. 

Both Cal Fire and Alameda County firefighters are trying to get a handle on the fire.

Evacuation order issued

What we know:

As of Tuesday afternoon, the fire had burned approximately 150 acres and was spreading at a moderate rate, according to Cal Fire.

An evacuation order was issued for zones ALC-072, PLS-080, PLS-081, and PLS-103.

“Immediate threat to life. This is a lawful order to LEAVE NOW. The area is lawfully closed to public access,” the evacuation order read.

An evacuation warning was issued for Zones PLS-079 and PLS-082.

No containment information or reports of damaged structures were immediately available.
