Will Smith Debuted a Shaved Head at the Monaco E1 Grand Prix with Prince Albert

Monaco has a long and storied history with racing sports, and it just added a anotherone to its roster. On July 18, the principality played host to the E1 Series Monaco Grand Prix, an all-electric boat racing series that’s the brainchild of Spanish entrepreneur Alejandro Agag. Though the event is only in its third season, it’s already attracted plenty of A-list attention, including the likes of Oscar-winner Will Smith.
Smith showed up to the race with an eye-catching new look, sporting a completely shaved head. Photographed alongside Monaco’s ruler, Prince Albert II, Smith paired his newly-bald pate with a short-sleeved knit button down, a white t-shirt, dark pants, and , of course, sunglasses.
While Smith hasn’t commented publicly on his new ‘do, in a video shared to his Instagram the star posted a caption that he had “shaved my head for my next movie,” and that he was, “‘tryna get some Monaco sun on it.” Smith is currently attached to a number of upcoming films, including sequels to Hancock and I Am Legend as well as the new thriller Supermax, though it’s not clear which of these movies the shorn look might be for.
The actor isn’t just a fan of the sport, he’s actively involved in the racing scene as an owner of the Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola team. His not the only big name attached to E1 either—NBA player Kyle Kuzma was also on hand at in Monaco in his role as co-owners of the Sierra Racing Club, and football icon Tom Brady supports his own eponymous team.
Prince Albert has a long history of supporting Monaco’s racing and water sports, and the electric power is also closely tied to his interest in marine sustainability. This year marked the third time that Monaco has played host to the E1 series race.
