Thousands from across Wales will flock to Swansea this weekend for the annual Wales Airshow. This year the event will be taking place on the city’s beach front on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26. However, many will be disappointed to hear that there is one major change.
The Red Arrows are often the highlight of everyone’s weekend, but this year they won’t be gracing the skies at the Wales Airshow. In fact. their display schedule for the coming months has revealed that there are no planned performances in Wales.
The world-renowned aerobatic team regularly features at the Wales Airshow in Swansea, but this year’s event is missing from the Red Arrows’ calendar.
The distinctive scarlet aircraft will instead spend much of the summer across the Atlantic for displays commemorating 250 years of American independence.
The squadron will be stationed in the States from late June through to late July, with performances scheduled in Maryland, New York, Wisconsin, Maine and Michigan.

While this news will disappoint those intending to visit the airshow, it will also be felt by those who attempt to catch sight of the magnificent jets as they travel towards Swansea.
The Red Arrows typically fly to Wales from Exeter airport, passing over numerous Welsh communities en route.
They publish the flight path in advance, prompting enthusiasts to venture out hoping to spot them.
Responding to the announcement that the Red Arrows won’t be appearing in Wales for 2026, one individual posted on Facebook: “Such a shame. There’s something quite magical about them, however many times you’ve seen them.”
Another added: “Red arrows are the best so I’m a little gutted. It’s always an amazing show but red arrows always been my star of the show.”
A third said: “A nice day out but the flight lineup is so repetitive now, plus the real draw the Red Arrows will be absent , shame.”
For anyone still hoping to catch the Red Arrows performing on home soil, the renowned display team are scheduled to appear at the English Riviera Airshow, the Isle of Man TT Races and the Clacton Airshow, amongst a host of other events. Their full schedule can be viewed here.
