American Pie star Tara Reid is permanently ditching Los Angeles after launching a scathing parting shot at her long-time neighbourhood.
The 50-year-old actress confirmed she is relocating to Florida after deciding she could no longer tolerate living in California.
“Anything is better than LA right now,” Reid said on the Pinellas Podcast. “LA is just a s***show.”
Reid snapped up a sleek condo inside the Hollywood Promenade Tower in the early 2000s for $395,000 ($US266,000).
She also owns a second home in Florida, purchased in 2024 with her boyfriend Nathan Montpetit-Howar.

Reid snapped up a sleek condo inside the Hollywood Promenade Tower in the early 2000s for $US266,000.
The move marks a clean break for the actress, who shot to global fame in 1998’s The Big Lebowski before starring in 2000s hits including Van Wilder and Urban Legend.
Speaking to Mr. Warburton Magazine, Reid recalled how negative tabloid attention derailed her career despite never breaking the law.
“I was the first one that started this image,” Reid said. “The difference is I never did sex tapes. I never did anything wrong — I’ve never even gotten a speeding ticket.
“But what I did get punished for, if I wasn’t at work and I wasn’t shooting, I went to Europe right away. I’d be popping bottles, and having a great time. But who doesn’t do that?”
She added that she felt bullied by major studios during her time out of the spotlight before returning in the Sharknado franchise.
“I didn’t work for a while,” Reid said. “That was really frustrating … It didn’t make sense to get punished for having fun.”

The actress, who reportedly has a net worth of $714,000 ($US500,000) faced a major pay gap in Hollywood.
When Reid reprised her iconic role in 2012’s American Reunion, she was the lowest-paid cast member, earning $370,000 ($US250,000).
By comparison, male co-stars Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott were both paid $7.4 million ($US5 million) to return.
Court filings from a since-dismissed 2018 lawsuit against Sharknado producers later revealed her earnings grew as the franchise expanded.
Reid took home $178,000 ($US125,000) for Sharknado 5 and $250,000 ($US175,000) for The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time.
