Jennifer Lopez Reflects on “Getting Better” as She Celebrates Her 57th Birthday in a Low-Cut White Dress

Jennifer Lopez has been turning heads all season long with her chic summer wardrobe. On June 24, the “Jenny From the Block” singer served up another stunning ensemble while celebrating her 57th birthday, this time inspired by one of her favorite pieces: the sundress.

“When you keep going it just keeps getting better ✨🥳,” the “On the Floor” singer captioned her Instagram post on Friday. The post featured Lopez sitting in a moving car with the windows down. As her long brown hair blew in in the wind, Lopez smiled at the camera, offering up a peek at her birthday ensemble. The outfit consisted of a low-cut white dress with what appears to be a delicate floral pattern in pink. The sleeveless dress featured thin straps that tied just above the shoulders, as well as ruffle detailing along the bust.

While Lopez didn’t share a glimpse at her full outfit, she did show off her jewelry, including a pair of huggie earrings and layered bracelets that glinted in the golden sunlight. For her glam, Lopez kept her hair straight and opted for neutral makeup that highlighted her glowing complexion.

“There’s no bigger moment that probably changed my life than stumbling upon the Theodore Roosevelt quote, ‘It’s not the critic who counts… The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; …who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly,'” said the voiceover, a clip of Brené Brown quoting Theodore Roosevelt’s “Man in the Arena” quote in a 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Roosevelt’s quote inspired the title of Brown’s book, Daring Greatly, and appears to have had a lasting impact on Lopez, as well. As Brown’s voice faded away, Lopez gave the camera a wink and a playful laugh before she stopped the recording.

On her Instagram Stories, Lopez re-shared several tribute posts celebrating her 57th year, as well as throwback videos featuring some of her most iconic outfits over the past 12 months. Notably, the fashion icon shared a glimpse at the deconstructed bodycon gown she wore to the London premiere of Office Romance in June.

The long-sleeved dress featured a sequin bodice and hot-pink silk skirt with a miniature slit that revealed her sky-high black pumps. Her style team accessorized the look with diamond chandelier earrings and a black clutch. She completed the ensemble with a slicked-back ponytail and bold makeup.

Lopez’s Instagram post comes about 18 months after the singer finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck. Following the split, she canceled dates on her This Is Me… Live tour and took a year off from work to process her emotions and prioritize time with her children. “I just decided to be home and sit in what had happened without running away from it through work, through another person, through anything—just sit,” she told Good Morning America in March, according to People.

The mom of two also recently celebrated her 18-year-old twins’ high school graduation and is preparing to send the teens off to college. If her birthday video is anything to go by, however, it sounds like Lopez is prepared to take on all of the major life changes the next year has in store.
