AEW is deep into the interesting story of Will Ospreay’s world championship quest on the road to All In at Wembley Stadium. He chose to go under the tutelage of sensei Jon Moxley to learn the dark arts of the Death Riders. That decision resulted in success for Ospreay in strengthening his damaged neck and winning the Owen Hart Cup tournament. Along the way, questions are raised about if Ospreay’s mind is being corrupted. The latest chapter has the Young Bucks trying to expose Ospreay as a villain.
The Young Bucks are set to wrestle Moxley and Ospreay in tag team action at Redemption. AEW produced a snazzy video package to hype the affair. The Bucks blamed Ospreay for their fall from grace as EVPs. They also thanked him, because that humbling experience was necessary to their rise today in the tag team division. They accused Ospreay of being brainwashed by Moxley. Mox delivered a great retort, “I’m getting real sick of everybody’s talk about what’s wrong and what’s right and who’s not being their true authentic selves. You’re all full of shit.”
This latest incident stems from Collision (July 25, 2026). Moxley sat on commentary as the Bucks wrestled Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. Interference arrived from Claudio Castagnoli and PAC, which was fought off by Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
The Bucks handled business in the end for victory. Afterward, they approached Moxley with scowls on their faces like a couple of tough guys. Boom! Ospreay blindsided Nick Jackson with the Hidden Blade. Moxley spiked Matt Jackson on the floor with the Paradigm Shift. After the deed was done, Ospreay acted conflicted about the apparent darkness taking over.
There is one problem with this angle. Ospreay didn’t do anything wrong here. The Bucks instigated the tense situation with Moxley, and Ospreay did what was necessary to protect his sensei. He didn’t overdo it. Ospreay delivered one strike. That’s all. What did the Bucks expect was going to happen? Did they think Bruv would offer a spot of tea to sort through this drama?
I agree with Moxley’s line about all the Jacksons being full of it. They are flawed individuals, so what puts them on a pedestal to judge Ospreay. He hasn’t cheated to win matches. He hasn’t joined in on the Death Riders ransacking. Of course, my opinion is subject to change should Ospreay do something really heinous.
