Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Myles Garrett Headline 99 Club for Madden NFL 27 Video Game

Ahead of next month’s release of Madden NFL 27, EA Sports unveiled the members of the famed 99 club on Monday.

The players who will start the video game with a 99 overall rating are Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, Rams defensive end Myles Garrett, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride.

EA Sports also partnered with Topps for “a first-of-it’s kind” glass football trophy, designed by artist Victor Solomon, to present to the players:

Allen, Garrett and Chase are all returning to the 99 Club for the second straight season, while Stafford, Smith-Njigba and McBride are making their debuts in the coveted group.

Stafford led the league in passing yards (4,707) and passing touchdowns (46) on his way to winning the 2025 NFL MVP award. He will be hoping to add a second Super Bowl title to his mantle before ending his storied career, as the Rams went all-in by acquiring Garrett, who is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. The Rams are the only team with two players in the 99 Club.

Smith-Njigba was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 1,793 yards on 119 receptions and adding 10 touchdowns. He helped lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl title and was rewarded with a four-year, $168.6 million deal that made him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. McBride was named first-team All-Pro after leading all tight ends in receptions (126) and receiving yards (1,239) in 2025.

Madden NFL 27 will launch worldwide on Aug. 13. Gamers can receive early access up to seven days in advance through the MVP+ membership.
