Veteran detained outside D.C. home files claim against Defense Department, Idaho National Guard

Attorneys for a combat veteran who displayed protest signs decrying the National Guard patrolling her neighborhood said in a court filing that there was no legal basis for three troops to enter the front gate to her home and “violently” detain her in an encounter that sparked a viral video.
