Thirteen high-performance supercars have been seized by police after reports of dangerous and anti-social driving on the M11.
The cars, including Lamborghinis, Audi R8s, a Ferrari and a Porsche, were seen on the motorway travelling northbound after joining from London at around 4.20pm on Tuesday 28 July.
Witnesses described the drivers accelerating at excessive speed, and then braking heavily suddenly and using the hard shoulder to undertake other road users.

They also said they saw the drivers of the cars ‘bunching together’, disrupting the flow of traffic. Essex police stopped the drivers at Junction 8, near Bishop’s Stortford and Stansted Airport and issued warnings for anti-social driving. They have since said that a number of other offences were identified and are now being investigated.

Sergeant Will Willsher said: “The behaviour reported to us was not only anti-social, but potentially placed other road users at serious risk, especially on a busy motorway during peak travel times.
“Roads Policing Unit officers acted quickly to locate the cars and take appropriate enforcement action.
“Speed limits are there to keep everyone safe and the law applies equally to all road users.”
Essex Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
