Jander came off injured early into Saints’ 3-1 friendly win at Eastleigh in the opening friendly while Azaz missed the match entirely.
Subsequently, the midfielders haven’t travelled to Germany for the club’s training camp and friendlies.
On Jander, Eckert told the Daily Echo: “It was one situation, one sprint, where against Eastleigh early on into the game.
“He never had muscular injuries in his career so far, so it’s quite a new thing also for him to have a feeling for his body.
“But it’s nothing major. We’ll see in the next week how quickly we can reintegrate him, but I’m quite positive that he’ll be back with us quickly.
“I think that Finn is a small question mark for Colchester,” the Saints head coach added.
“I think there’s also a chance that he’ll be involved in the game and definitely aiming towards Watford.

“I think for him especially it’s just very important that he starts the season without pain because I think that the last month he’s put everything on the line for the club.
“But I’m positive that he’ll be fine once the season starts.
“He’s been in the game for so many years, he’s had a couple of seasons, also last year where the pre-season wasn’t the easiest for him at Middlesbrough, but I’m just very confident that once the season starts he’ll be there.”
Edozie’s absence is understood to be down to a knock and also something not to be concerned by.
Meanwhile, Fellows featured in the friendlies against Eastleigh and Eintracht Braunschweig.
However, the winger was absent for Wednesday’s behind closed doors clash against Paderborn, which Saints lost 2-1.

The 23 year old is unlikely to play against Preussen Münster on Saturday but, again, his situation isn’t something to be concerned about.
“I think if it were to be a league game, he would play tomorrow,” Eckert explained.
“It’s nothing major. He felt a little bit on his abductor, and then it was just a decision for the game not to take any risks, but he looks fine.
“I think he’ll train all next week, then we’ll see how many minutes he’s going to get against Colchester.
“But it’s nothing to worry about, it’s just a little bit of precaution. I think if that were to be an official game tomorrow, he’ll be ready to be available.”
