Emmerdale has unveiled a surprise arrest in the aftermath of Billy Fletcher’s mysterious attack. In last night’s episode, Billy was left for dead in a dramatic cliffhanger after previously attempting to kiss his ex, Dawn Fletcher.
In tonight’s episode, Kerry and Jai found the injured Billy, but while Jai called for an ambulance, Kerry realised she needed to move the remaining counterfeit car parts, so she called Caleb.
Jai called Dawn, who told Joe, Kim, Graham and Gabby that she had to leave as there had been an emergency.

While Gabby was complaining to the group that Billy had ghosted her, Dawn said: “I’ve got to go to hospital. Billy’s had an accident.”
In hospital, Billy was in critical condition, and Jai told the group that he had suffered a serious brain bleed after being unconscious at the depot all night.
When Dawn asked where Billy was, Jai said: “He’s been taken straight to surgery. A head injury, he’s got a bleed on the brain.”
Back at the depot, Caleb and Kerry were interviewed by the police, with Caleb suggesting he didn’t think it was an accident at work.
As the group watched on, Dawn sat by Billy’s side, saying: “If you can, hang on in there ok? ‘Cause we really need you.”
Meanwhile, the police told Jai, Kerry and Caleb that it was not an accident, saying: “The hospital has spoken to us about the nature of Mr Fletcher’s injuries. We now believe he may have been the victim of a violent attack.”
Kerry and Caleb told the police that Joe had been at the depot, looking for Billy and threatening him after learning that Dawn and Billy had shared a kiss.

Dawn told Joe that Billy had been attacked, saying it could’ve killed him, and asked Joe why anyone would want to hurt Billy.
Caleb vowed revenge on Joe, telling Kerry: “I swear to you, if he don’t pull through, Joe had better hope the police get to him before I do.”
After Dawn explained why Billy had kissed her, Joe said he wouldn’t attack Billy, even though he was annoyed.
Joe was arrested for grievous bodily harm, but he protested his innocence to a conflicted Dawn.
