Falcons sign Canadian OL Matthew Bergeron to contract extension

A Canadian NFLer is getting paid.

The Atlanta Falcons have signed Victoriaville, Que. native Matthew Bergeron to a contract extension, the team announced on Saturday.

That annual average salary of $24 million would put Bergeron in the top 15 highest-paid offensive linemen in the league this season on a per-year basis.

Selected by the Falcons 38th overall in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft, Bergeron was also the No. 1-ranked Canadian prospect ahead of the 2023 CFL draft, but wasn’t selected.
