A 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from Toronto have been confirmed dead following a boat crash Friday on Lake Rosseau, Ont.

Their bodies were recovered by an underwater search and recovery team on Saturday following an overnight search, according to an updated release by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The pair had been missing since OPP responded to reports of a collision on Friday around 10:40 p.m., according to an earlier release.

Crews initially found a “severely damaged vessel” on a rock ledge but not the two people believed to have been aboard.

After a search of the surrounding area failed to find the missing boaters, police deployed recovery divers and “specialized OPP resources”.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, police said. Anyone with information is urged to contact OPP.
