The overseas business remained the main growth engine. Sales of passenger vehicles and pickups abroad hit a record 179,841 units in July, up 124.3% year-on-year.
That figure accounted for about 43% of the month’s total sales, roughly in line with June’s share.
Based on that, BYD’s domestic sales in July were about 239,370 units, down roughly 9% year-on-year, a much narrower decline than in previous months.
In the domestic market, despite July being a slow season for sales, the company’s flash charging models continued to sell well, BYD said.
Sales of the Da Tang exceeded 10,000 units, while those of the Tai 7 EV neared 10,000 units; production capacity for the second-generation Blade Battery continues to increase but still cannot keep up with demand, the company said.
In overseas markets, demand remains strong, though sales are primarily constrained by insufficient shipping capacity, it said.
The core BYD Auto brand, which includes the Dynasty and Ocean lineup, sold 350,178 units in July.
Off-road brand Fang Cheng Bao sold 41,213 units, up 190.64% year-on-year and 15.74% from June, a monthly record for the brand.

Despite the recovery of recent months, BYD’s cumulative sales this year remain below last year’s level.
From January to July 2026, BYD sold 2,227,722 NEVs, down 10.54% year-on-year. The decline narrowed from the 15.72% drop in the first half.
Overseas sales of passenger vehicles and pickups totaled 969,208 units over the same period, or 43.5% of the group’s cumulative sales.
BYD said its cumulative NEV sales have now topped 17.3 million units.
The sales rebound comes as the company works its way out of earlier production bottlenecks. BYD’s switch from the first-generation Blade Battery to a second-generation product with flash charging capability had stretched delivery times for several key models.
BYD told China Securities Journal it plans to unveil a humanoid robot in August.
