Woking: Cards sign midfielder Turner and defender Putman on loan

Woking have signed midfielder Steven Turner on a season-long loan from Ipswich and defender Jaiden Putman on a short-term loan from Queens Park Rangers.
Turner, 20, returns to Kingfield for a second spell after playing six matches on loan at the end of the 2025-2026 campaign.
Director of Football Jody Brown said: “We’d always hoped to bring Steven back after he impressed back in April. Of course, that was dependent on Ipswich Town.
“He’s spent pre-season with their first team, but the dialogue never stopped. We are really pleased to have him here for the season.”
Putman, 19, arrives on short-term loan as injury cover from Championship side QPR.
He made his Hoops debut in the EFL Cup against Plymouth Argyle in August 2025.
Putman then went on loan to National League South Bath City, where he made 25 appearances in the second half of last season.
Putman told Woking’s website: “As soon as I spoke to the coaching staff, it was clear this was the right place for me to continue my development.
“Hopefully I can make a positive impact and repay the faith the club has shown in me.”
