WTA Wuhan Day 2 Predictions Including Mirra Andreeva vs Laura Siegemund

14 matches are scheduled on day two of the WTA Wuhan Open. including two second-round matches. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for every match on the slate including Iga Swiatek vs Marie Bouzkova, Emma Raducanu vs Ann Li, and Naomi Osaka vs Leylah Fernandez. But who will advance?
WTA Wuhan Day 2 Predictions
Veronika Kudermetova vs Magdalena Frech
Head-to-head: Kudermetova 2-0 Frech
Veronika Kudermetova has lost her way since reaching the semifinals in Cincinnati and will be looking for a solid week here. She has the game to cause a lot of trouble, but needs to control the unforced errors. Magdalena Frech is defending a lot of points this week and will slip down the rankings with an early exit. Her form coming into this match isn’t great either, and she has never defeated Kudermetova at this level. All signs point to a Kudermetova victory, but I expect a fight from last year’s quarterfinalist.
Prediction: Kudermetova in 3

Liudmila Samsonova vs Emiliana Arango
Head-to-head: first meeting
Liudmila Samsonova has a 3-5 win-loss record since Wimbledon and has lost her last four matches despite starting as a favourite on paper. This doesn’t reflect her talent, and so she is due for a big week – though whether that will happen at the WTA Wuhan Open remains to be seen. Emiliana Arango is a lucky loser and will play her first main draw match here. She probably won’t have what it takes to win this match, but can swing freely and might be able to put some pressure on Samsonova with a solid start.
Prediction: Samsonova in 2
Emma Navarro vs Zhang Shuai
Head-to-Head: Navarro 0-1 Zhang
Emma Navarro got some much-needed match wins in Beijing, especially the win over Iga Swiatek. That should have given her some confidence to end her season on a high note. Zhang Shuai is capable of producing some great tennis on home soil, as she did the last time these two played a year ago. However, the 36-year-old has never done well at this particular tournament, and there are some justifiable concerns about her stamina at this stage of her career, which will be tested by the American player. Navarro should have the edge here.
Prediction: Navarro in 3

Mirra Andreeva vs Laura Siegemund
Head-to-Head: first meeting
Fifth seed Mirra Andreeva will be hoping to make a deep run this week and return to her best. She can improve her chances of reaching the WTA Finals with some match wins here. Laura Siegemund is a fierce competitor, and she has shown that multiple times this season. She ended her three-match losing streak with a first-round win over Dayana Yastremska. Andreeva will need to bring her best level to avoid an upset.
Prediction: Andreeva in 3
