Welsh singer Charlotte Church is among the list of famous faces who will make their way into the castle this week with the chance to prove themselves as either a Faithful or a Traitor. The Traitors finally returns to screens with a fresh star-studded version of the hit BBC programme hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
The celebrity edition of the game of deception and betrayal will feature 19 stars, including actor and broadcaster Sir Stephen Fry and Olympian Tom Daley. Host Claudia Winkleman previously said: “We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks but that would be a lie.”
Charlotte Church is a Welsh singer and songwriter from Cardiff. She is best known for impressive vocal skills and first made a name for herself as a child. She established herself as a talented classical singer at a young age.
Her first album, Voice of an Angel, was released in 1998 and was made up of a collection of arias, sacred songs, and traditional pieces. She was then known as the “Voice of an Angel”.

In the mid-2000s, she transitioned into pop music with the release of her hit single Crazy Chick and the album Tissues and Issues. She also launched her own chat show, The Charlotte Church Show, which aired on Channel 4.
Adding to her TV credits, she was a judge on the BBC talent series Over the Rainbow in 2010. The show, hosted by Graham Norton, documented the search for a new performer to take on the role of Dorothy in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of The Wizard of Oz.
Away from her busy life in showbiz, the 39-year-old singer lives in Dinas Powys, Wales, with her husband Jonathan Powell, their daughter Frida and her two children, Ruby and Dexter, who she shares with her ex-partner, Gavin Henson.
Charlotte was in a long-term public relationship with the rugby star for five years. They were named as a key power couple and shocked fans when they announced their split. They welcomed two children together in 2007 and 2009 but parted ways in 2010 just six weeks after getting engaged.
A statement released on behalf of the couple at the time said: “Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson have confirmed reports of their separation and would like to stress that no third party was involved.
“They are trying their hardest to deal with this difficult time for both of them in a way which will minimise the impact on their two young children. They fully intend to work together and cooperate in ensuring there is as little disruption as possible to the children’s lives.”

According to Wales Online, Charlotte revealed: “When he proposed, I was overjoyed. It was amazing. I really was going to marry Gav and spend the rest of my life with him.
“But then he came back from Norway, and he’d changed, and I’d had time to think. We had both had a change of heart – so we were both of the same mind.”
Later in 2010, Charlotte started dating musician Johnny Powell after they first met at The Robin Hood pub in Cardiff. Charlotte and Johnny tied the knot in 2017 and welcomed their first child into the world in August 2020, a daughter named Frida Simone.
Charlotte tends to keep her children out of the spotlight, but many did a double take earlier this week when she attended the Welsh BAFTA Awards with her son Dexter, who is now 16.

Wales Online reports Dexter, 16, bears a striking resemblance to his father and he already towers over his mother. He looked dapper in a smart black suit for the star-studded event, which took place at the International Convention Centre in Newport. Charlotte was there to present the Television Drama Award.
The Celebrity Traitors airs Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
