Meet The Celebrity Traitors Star Niko Omilana, Who Once Ran For London Mayor

Celebrity Traitors is officially back on our screens! After months of waiting, we finally know the 19 famous faces who will be gathering at the round table to banish their peers, under the watchful eye of Claudia Winkleman.
In fact, Claudia even admitted that hosting Celebrity Traitors was more nerve-racking than the original. ‘I think it was scarier, because all I wanted to do was chat to them and make them like me. But of course, I have to be extremely unlikable. It was tricky!,’ she said.
Tom Daley, Paloma Faith, Alan Carr and Charlotte Church are among the A-Listers taking part. Another celeb who is convinced he has what it takes to survive in the castle is Niko Omilana. But where have you seen him before?
Who is Niko Omilana?
Nikolas Omilana, aka Niko, is an influencer and YouTuber who is known for posting prank videos. He gained further notoriety when he ran as an independent candidate in the 2021 London mayoral election and the 2024 UK general election. He received 49,628 votes in the election, which made him the highest-placed independent candidate – beating other popular independents Piers Corbyn and Laurence Fox.
His manifesto included: David Attenborough voicing all National Rail announcements, Sky TV to be free for struggling future prime ministers, Bucking Palace to become available on Airbnb, fixing potholes, making sure England win the Euros, introducing podcast licences to stop everyone making one, turning the House of Lords into an affordable housing unit and sending politicians age 44 (Rishi Sunak at the time) to the front line.
Now, he thinks his powers of persuasion as an aspiring politician could come in useful on the game. ‘I sold myself as the only honest politician a lot, so I’ll hopefully play on that honesty in the game. I’m quite good at being persuasive so I’m hoping that I’ll be able to use that for sure. Also, sitting back and observing, maybe stealing other people’s tactics, seeing where I might be able to manipulate,’ he said.
How old is Niko Omilana?
Niko was born 4 March 1998, making him 27 years old.
Where is Niko Omilana from?
Nikolas Omilana was born in London to an English mother and a Nigerian father. However, he grew up in Stafford in the West Midlands.
Is Niko Omilana a Faithful or a Traitor?
Niko is a Faithful in The Celebrity Traitors and is banking on the other celebrities (many of whom are household names) not knowing who he is. However, he was rumbled in the very first episode as Stephen Fry recognised that he’s a famous internet prankster.
Why did Niko Omilana go on Celebrity Traitors?
Speaking to the BBC, Niko admitted he thinks him and the show are a great match. ‘Of all shows, I feel like it is almost made for me to be on a show like this. It’s right up my street. The moment the opportunity came up I said yes, 100%,’ he said.
And he thinks his career will stand him in good stead. ‘I hope I’m going to bring a different way of way of thinking. I’m experienced in playing games similar to this and this is as big as it gets, really. I think I’ll try and spice it up a little, bring a little bit of sauce to the game. I’ll bring up the vibes, maybe a bit of chaos, just as much as I can,’ he said.
Is Niko Omilana in a relationship?
Yes, Niko is in a relationship with Instagram model Sophie (@soppyG). Little is known about their relationship beyond what they share on TikTok, but their fans love to see them together.
