Lead drivers reaching their limit

Who has what time in the car? Will they have to put in the “second” drivers in the car for the finish?

– Trozz

No driver is allowed to drive for more than three-and-a-half hours at a time.

And right now, with the slow speeds and safety cars, means that a couple of the drivers are going to be right on the limit.

They may need to make a change.

If they do, they won’t win Bathurst.

I don’t think so

Is this the highest number of crashes in a Bathurst 1000? Geez it’s heartbreaking for the drivers and teams who have given it their all…

– Lege Feliciter

There were eight safety car periods in 2022.

We’ve had seven today.

It has been a carnage-filled race.

Heartbroken Ryan Wood: ‘It is what it is’

Ryan Wood is speaking from the Mobil 1 Truck Assist Ford garage.

He is gutted.

You can see how upset he is, almost on the verge of tears, the 21-year-old.

It was a crank sensor that failed.

“I’m lost for words,” he says.

“Our team tried our arses off all week and we put ourselves in a position to win the race and I made quite a few errors and the one
at The Cutting was a luck sort of thing, and then obviously for the engine to expire or whatever has happened across both cars is pretty piss poor.

“Look, at the end of the day, I can’t thank our team enough. All our sponsors, Juice, who put us
in the position we were in today with his stint, and he is an incredible driver and incredible human, and I’m really gutted we couldn’t do it because it felt like it was there today.

“At the end of the day, it is my second Bathurst, and it is what it is.”
