Ross King will take to the dancefloor tonight for week three of Strictly Come Dancing. The Lorraine correspondent was the odds on favourite to be first to eliminated from the show last weekend.

However, the 63-year-old defied the odds and avoided the bottom two as Chris Robshaw and Thomas Skinner battled it out to stay in the competition. The judges eventually opted the the former Apprentice contestant to leave as rugby player Chris continues in the contest for Movie Week.

Ross has been teamed up with Jowita Prysztal for this year’s edition of the contest and the two will dance a Paso Doble to the Thunderbirds team. However, it seems he will have to defy the odds again as the bookmakers once again have him as the favourite to leave the contest this week.

Ross reflected on his stint so far in an interview on Good Morning Britain as he told the hosts how he made a big mistake in Week One of the contest. He said: “”It’s weird and it’s strange and it’s hard going, but it’s fun.

“You’ve all done it. I’m loving it, but I made a huge mistake. Everyone said get the tan. The first week, get the spray tan because it’s a big thing.

“I got it and I looked like a garden fence. Big mistake. Schoolboy error. So, never ever have I fake tanned over a real tan.”

Ross also spoke in the interview about how he is appearing on Strictly Come Dancing to inspire other people from his generation to take chances.

When his participation on Strictly was announced, he said: “From the bright lights of Hollywood to the glittering ballroom – it’s a dream come true to be part of such an iconic show.

“I can’t wait to learn from the best, meet my fellow contestants, and, most importantly… try not to step on too many toes! Let’s give this the best that I can! As my mum always said: “You’ll never know till you give it a go!”

Ross hails from Glasgow but moved across the Atlantic to Los Angeles in 1993 when he became ITV’s showbiz correspondent. He is currently in a relationship with Bridget Siegel, 43, which Ross confirmed on the first episode of Strictly.

He said: “It’s so lovely that my girlfriend flew 5000 miles all the way to come here tonight. I said, ‘Come tonight, Bridget, because there might not be too many of these.”

Until then, it appears Ross has largely kept his love life away from the limelight as his Instagram page comprises updates from his life as Lorraine’s showbiz correspondent.

He was previously married to actress Brianna Deutsch from 2015 – 2019. Brianna was 22 years younger than Ross and he previously opened up about the age gap.

He commented: “She’s beautiful and I know I’m punching well, well above my weight. The age difference has never been an issue.

“I want to have kids too. I’m not worried about being an older dad. I’m a big family man.”

Ross first marriage was to Helen Way and they were in a relationship from 1999 – 2006. On the How to be 60 podcast, he revealed he has been in a relationship with new partner Bridget for three years.

He also did not rule out the chance he would marry for a third time, as he said: “Never say never again. How about that? I’m such a great believer in love. It’s certainly not one of those things, having been married twice before.

“Either I’m really bad at it or I could be really good at it in the future, I don’t know. It depends which way you look at it.

“The glass is half full or the glass is half empty. But no, no, no, I’m a great believer in love.

‘I feel very fortunate with Bridget that I’ve found someone who is just absolutely brilliant in every way, so I’m very very fortunate.”
