Episode 12, “Search Party” recap
As indicated by the episode title, this week’s new episode followed the characters as they launched a determined search party to locate a missing Karen. Despite the strides Karen made in the past few weeks, the past couple of episodes showcased Karen’s mental health decline rapidly, ultimately leading to her disappearance.
Though the search for Karen remained everybody’s main priority during this week’s episode, several other key developments were made, specifically in regard to Andi and Gary’s shocking reunion and Fatima and Zac’s deteriorating relationship.
Before the week-long hiatus happened, episode 11 featured the beginning of a shocking reunion between Andi and her ex, Gary. It turns out the reason for Gary’s impromptu visit was to gain closure with Andi before he and his children moved away, which seems to point to Gary’s exit from the show. While Andi was hesitant about the reunion, Gary did own up to his manipulative ways, leaving fans feeling better about his departure.
Meanwhile, Zac and Fatima’s relationship received another blow as Chaz decided to continue with his unwelcome advances towards her, which only further fueled Zac’s anger. Despite this untimely and explosive confrontation, Zac did assist in the search for Karen once he was told about it.
Lastly, the episode left off on a bit of a cliffhanger as Fatima—perhaps the least likely person to—received a call from Karen, leading viewers to believe that in the coming weeks, Karen could return home, and more answers could be revealed.
