Jordan James: Leicester City midfielder on ‘dream’ start to loan

In his first month with Leicester, James has already scored more goals than he managed across his entire first season with Rennes last term.

He featured 24 times across all competitions for the French top-flight side, having left boyhood club Birmingham City for the capital of Brittany in August 2024.

“It was a tough season last year for me, I didn’t play as much football as I wanted to,” James reflected.

But he was quick to add that he has rediscovered his best form on returning to English football and the Championship with a Leicester side expected to challenge for promotion straight back to the Premier League.

“I’ve started this season unbelievably, and I feel fit, strong and confident,” James said.

“I’m just riding the wave and seeing where it takes me.”
