Weather, runway construction lead to delays at Logan Airport, officials say
Low clouds blanketing eastern Massachusetts as a nor’easter spun south of the region Tuesday led to delays at Logan International Airport, officials said.
The aviation tracking website FlightAware reported ground delays of about three hours on average for flights heading to Logan. Departing flights were delayed by about 45 minutes to an hour.
The Federal Aviation Administration said flights in the afternoon were being delayed by an average of 177 minutes due to “weather/low ceilings.”
“Due to weather and runway construction work, we are encouraging travelers to plan ahead and check with their airlines before coming to Boston Logan,” Samantha Decker, a Massport spokesperson, said in an email.
