Al-Ettifaq vs Al-Hilal Prediction: Not the best start for Hilal

Round 5 of the Saudi Pro League brings Al-Hilal up against struggling Al-Ettifaq at the EGO Stadium, where the visitors aim to work their way back to the top and shake off their recent inconsistencies in the league. Al-Hilal have not had the best start to the new Saudi Pro League season as the Blue Waves are sitting 6th with 8 points from four unbeaten games. They have been solid but not spectacular, drawing twice while scoring 10 and conceding six.

Simone Inzaghi’s side, fresh off a 3-1 thriller against Al-Okhdood, will look to capitalize miles away from home against a team that’s lost just a single game in the league and has won the same amount of games as them.

Al-Ettifaq have not had the best start in the league this season, having won two games, with a draw and a loss from the four league games played. They are just a point behind their opponent, Al-Hilal, and we are about to witness a spectacle on Saturday. Check the team conditions! Several betting options are available.

Al-Ettifaq has kicked off the 2024/25 Roshn Saudi Pro League with a mixed bag of results, sitting around mid-table with 7 points from their first four matches, which comprises 2 wins, a draw, and a loss. Under Al-Shehri’s guidance, the Knights of Ad-Dahna are showing early flashes of quality, driven by stars like Khalid Al-Ghannam, who remains the top scorer for Al-Ettifaq.

Al-Ettifaq started the new season with a 2-1 win over Al-Kholood, with goals from Nikota and Wijnaldum. Their second game ended in a goalless draw, while they suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat against Al-Taawoun. They came back from a goal down to secure a 1-3 win against Damac in their last league game, and that win will propel them forward in this upcoming game.

Shehri will put up his regular massive attacking 4-2-3-1 formation, with Wijnaldum leading the team’s attack alongside Moussa Dembele and Joao Costa.

Player to watch out for: Blaz Kramer

The forward’s one goal this season makes him Okhdoud’s main man in the absence of Juan Pedroza; his pace on counters could test Al-Hilal’s high line if they lose focus.

Marek Rodak – Jack Hendry, Madu, Jack Hendry, Al-Oteibi,— Al-Ghannam, Medran, Duda, Nkota — Wijnaldum, Ahmed Hassan

Simone Inzaghi’s side, fresh off a 2-3 loss in their last AFC Champions League game against Nasaf Qarshi. Hilal have now won two of their AFC Champions League games played, with Malcom scoring three goals already in the tournament.

Their most recent league game against Al-Okhdoud was a thriller; Hilal came back from a goal down to win the game by 3 goals to one. Leonardo scored a brace, while Theo Hernandez scored one goal.

Al-Hilal started the new season on a good note with a 2-0 victory against Al-Riyadh, with goals from Malcom and Moteb Al-Harbi. They settled for a stalemate against Al-Qadisiyah in their second game of the season (2-2), before eventually drawing (3-3) with Al-Ahli in their third league game.

Darwin Nunez, who just joined from Liverpool, has settled in quickly as he already scored two goals for Hilal, one in the league and another in the AFC Champions League. Theo Hernandez also joined from AC Milan, and he has already scored two goals for Hilal.

Joao Cancelo is still doubtful for this crucial encounter after coming off injured in the 40th minute of their 2-1 victory against Al-Duhail. Simone Inzaghi might have to move on without him.

Player to watch out for: Darwin Nunez

The Liverpool forward has settled in quickly with two goals already to his name this season. We tip him for another potential goal against Al-Okhdoud on Thursday.
