Tornado Watch Issued for Parts of East and Northeast Texas

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch until 9 PM CDT for portions of East and Northeast Texas, including areas near Tyler, Texarkana, Mount Pleasant, Nacogdoches, and Lufkin.

A few tornadoes are possible, along with hail up to ping-pong ball size and wind gusts up to 75 mph.
Storms are expected to move across the region through the evening hours before shifting east into Louisiana later tonight.

Texans in the watch area should stay alert, have multiple ways to receive warnings, and know where to take shelter if a warning is issued. We’ll have live updates and coverage on our live stream here, if needed.
