CT native Dan Orlovsky a ’13-year-old’ for inserting ‘6-7’ meme into latest take

During this segment, Orlovsky made some fairly conspicuous efforts to incorporate various variations of the phrase “6-7,” which was originally a lyric in the rap song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla but has since evolved into a popular phrase for Generation Alpha youngsters. Referring to Steelers quarterback Joey Porter Jr., Orlovsky said, “Joey’s in coverage, and it looks like he’s giving 6-7 yards, 15 yards down the field of coverage.” In a later conversation about the league’s best quarterbacks, he said, “Dak [Prescott] is probably in that top 6, top 7 world.”

As such, the Kay Adams Show created a post on X cataloging these soundbites, captioning the video “6-7?! WE’RE ONTO YOU DAN!” Orlovsky hardly denied the allegations in a subsequent quote post, simply replying, “I’m a 13 year old.”

Orlovsky was born in Bridgeport and grew up in Shelton, leading the Gaels to a state championship as he racked up Power 5 college offers from across the nation — the 6-5 quarterback ultimately decided to stay home and play for UConn. He arrived in Storrs for the Huskies’ second-ever season in FBS football and helped quickly transform the Huskies into a contender, throwing 33 touchdowns in a 9-3 season for UConn in 2003 before reaching a bowl game in the program’s first Big East season the following year.

This college success helped Orlovsky earn a spot in the NFL, selected in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, as he started 12 games across seven seasons as a longtime backup quarterback. Orlovsky has achieved much more recognition in his post-playing career, serving as a college football and NFL analyst on NFL Live and a variety of football-related programming on Connecticut-based ESPN.
