Duke Recruiting: Rising Star Bryson Howard Picks The Blue Devils!

Bryson Howard committed to Duke Tuesday, becoming the first member of Duke’s 2026 class.
An athletic 6-6 wing with a wingspan of at least 6-11, Howard is from all reports also a solid defender and with Jon Scheyer, that’ll get you playing time.
When asked by Adam Finkelstein why he chose Duke, Howard said it felt like home.
He was asked what he brought and he said “a whole lot of energy. I’m on the way.”
We’ll have more later after the Duke-UCF exhibition game, but it’s a big get for Duke. Not only is he an athletic defender, but he should bring a lot of versatility to the program.
As noted in the earlier article about Howard, his father, Josh, was an outstanding Demon Deacon at the turn of the century and went on to a successful NBA career, making the All-Star team in 2007.
Howard also fits Duke’s tendency of recruiting players from athletic families. It probably makes life easier for the staff because those guys arrive with a clear understanding of the commitment required to succeed at this level.
