Let’s kick things off in college football with this Tuesday night matchup between Kennesaw State and Florida International.
The Owls come in as 3-point road favorites, with their opening spread coming up here from its original spot of -1.5. Since the open, the bets/money are almost all on the Panthers at home. I’m rolling with the road favorites here because I do not follow the public under most circumstances. Give me those pesky Owls (-3) on the road.
FIU isn’t necessarily wowing the opposition on offense, and Kennesaw State has a pretty solid defense, allowing 21 points or fewer in five straight games. Not to mention, the two teams find themselves running a much slower pace, and they’ll likely hit some brick walls in the process.
The total is currently at 49.5 points, which is a great number to take the under (-110).
The Rockets opened at +8 have since dropped down a half-point, with about 65% of bets/money on them to cover. It’s certainly worth noting that 90% of the bets are on OKC moneyline, but about 55% of the money is Houston to pull the upset. I think that’s a bit much to risk, so I’m going Rockets +7.5 (-110).
Kevin Durant, who just signed a two-year, $90 million extension on Sunday, makes his Rockets’ debut against the franchise that drafted him. Of course he wants to make a big impression right away, so KD for the first points scored at +584? Don’t mind if I do.
Even more so, I like Alperen Sengun in a number of different areas tonight, specifically to record a double-double (-103). OKC was pretty weak down low in every metric last season, and they’ve got mostly the same personnel.
OKC likely wins this game close, and I didn’t see too many props with value. However, I do have some interest in OKC’s winning margin; by 3-6 points (+475) would be a nice haul here on Opening Night.
