Former Penn State coach James Franklin to make live appearance on ESPN’s GameDay set on Saturday

James Franklin coached his final game as Penn State’s leader last Saturday in the Nittany Lions’ 22-21 upset loss to Northwestern at Beaver Stadium.
Franklin was relieved of his head coaching duties on Sunday.
PSU athletic director Pat Kraft selected longtime Lions assistant Terry Smith to be the program’s interim head coach for the remainder of the regular season.
Still, this Saturday will be a big one for Franklin, who spent 12 seasons as Penn State’s coach.
Per an ESPN release, Franklin will make an exclusive appearance for a live interview on GameDay this Saturday in Athens, Ga., ahead of the SEC showdown between No. 5 Ole Miss and No. 9 Georgia.
GameDay will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon on ESPN, ESPNU and Disney+. The show will originate from Myers Quad on Georgia’s campus.
Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and Georgia coach Kirby Smart will also appear on GameDay.
Penn State (3-3) visits Iowa (4-2) on Saturday night.
