Popular Food Influencer Dies From ‘Extremely Rare Complication’ After Giving Birth At Home

An Australian food influencer has died after giving birth to her first son at home.
Stacey Hatfield’s husband, Nathan Warnecke, announced in a touching tribute on Instagram Monday that she died on Sept. 29.
“Its with heavy heart that i share with you the unexpected passing of my beautiful wife, soul mate and best friend, Stacey Warnecke (Hatfield),” Warnecke wrote on Hatfield’s “Natural Spoonfuls” Instagram page.
Hatfield’s nearly 24,000 Instagram followers knew her for her health content and toxin-free lifestyle. She founded her company, Natural Spoonfuls, in 2019 before creating the social media content creation company Waffl.
Her husband revealed that Hatfield “successfully” gave birth to their son Axel at home but died “shortly after an unforeseen and extremely rare complication arose.”
Warnecke did not share details about the complications Hatfield faced.
“She passed after being transferred to [the] hospital. Hospital staff were amazing and did the utmost to help, but ultimately nothing could be done despite their best efforts,” he noted.
Warnecke, who said he knew Hatfield for nine years, praised her as “the light of my life” and “the reason I got up in the morning.”
“Words can’t do justice to how devastating this is for myself and everyone that knew and loved her,” he added, before gushing that she was the “most beautiful, loving, caring, hardworking, disciplined, intelligent and trustworthy human being i’ve ever known.”

Calling the influencer a “child of the universe,” Warnecke told Hatfield’s followers that she “loved above all else to live a simple, stress free life.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up in Hatfield’s honor to assist her husband with covering funeral costs, household bills, baby supplies and other expenses.
