Holly Willoughby pleads GUILTY to knocking rider off scooter in her £25k Mini Cooper

HOLLY Willoughby has pleaded guilty to knocking a rider off his scooter while driving her £25,000 Mini Cooper without due care or attention.

The 44-year-old TV presenter collided with the victim near her £3million home in London on August 28.

A hearing took place at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court today in Holly’s absence after she pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention via post.

She was fined £2,444 including court costs, to be paid within 14 days, and given six points on her licence.

JPs were shown footage of Holly turning right into a side street without indicating.

A rider on a white Piaggio scooter, who was overtaking her at the time at around 20mph, was sent crashing to the ground.

The court heard he suffered a fracture to his neck and a broken toe in the crash.

Prosecutor Geraldine Dickinson said: “The defendant was driving [the Mini] in London.

“The intention was to turn right, which she did without indicating and the rider was thrown from the motorbike.”

In his own statement, the rider told the court he was slowing down to stop when the Mini turned right without indicating.

He added: “This caused me to be thrown to the ground in the carriageway.”

Aisling Byrnes, defending Holly, said the star had suffered a “momentary lapse in judgement”.

The lawyer added: “She was horrified to find she had caused this accident and the injury, that really upset her.”

Ms Byrnes said the error was “completely out of character” for Holly, who appeared on the court list under her married name of Baldwin.

She added: “She is extremely remorseful. She left her vehicle and went straight to the drive or the moped and offered him water and her phone and remained at the scene until the officers arrived.

“She admitted guilt at the scene and pleaded guilty via post as soon as she got the form.”

The charge comes after a troubled few years for Holly, who stepped down from This Morning in 2023.

She had a public falling-out with co-host Phillip Schofield after his relationship with a younger male co-worker was revealed, which ended with him leaving the show.

The pair fronted together for 14 years – as well as Dancing on Ice from 2006 to 2011 and then from 2018 until Phillip’s departure from ITV.

Last year, stalker Gavin Plumb was found guilty of plotting to kidnap, rape, and murder Holly.

The court heard how his twisted plan had “traumatised” Holly and had a “life-changing impact” on her.

The 37-year-old was jailed for life with a minimum of 16 years over the chilling plot.

Brave Holly returned to screens on Netflix’s Celebrity Bear Hunt earlier this year, alongside Bear Grylls but the show has since been axed.

She is reportedly planning a “spectacular” TV comeback and has been tipped to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.
