Windstorm closes Oregon highways: U.S. 20 and 22, OR 213 and 214, and Oregon 126.

Damaging wind and wet weather early Wednesday caused downed trees, limbs and power lines closing area highways according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Road hazards and power outages were seen across the western portion of the state and drivers are urged to use extra caution, and check their routes before heading out.

Current early Wednesday closures include OR 22 two miles west of Detroit at milepost 49 closed due to downed trees. ODOT says this could be an extended closure. There is no detour in this area.

Oregon 126 (McKenzie River Highway) is closed beginning five miles east of Vida between mileposts 31-44 due to downed power lines and trees.

U.S. 20 is closed at Shea Viewpoint between mileposts 31-71 due to downed trees.

In the Willamette Valley, OR 214 is closed four miles south of Woodburn at milepost 41 due to downed lines and trees.

Oregon 213 is closed due to downed lines north of Mulino. Choose an alternate route.

Oregon 99E is closed in both directions 2 miles north of Hubbard due to downed lines.

UPDATE 8 a.m.: Earlier Wednesday the road from U.S. 26 to Timberline Lodge was closed but has since reopened. Power is out along the highway over Mount Hood and traffic cameras in the area and not functioning. U.S. 26 is closed at Zigzag and at Government Camp due to downed power lines. There are no local detours available.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution traveling over the next few days and to check their routes prior to heading out via TripCheck.com.
