Queen’s Park 2-1 Clyde

Clyde exited the KDM Evolution Trophy at the round of 32 this evening despite a valiant effort in a narrow loss to Queen’s Park at The city Stadium.
Darren Young made six changes to the side from Saturday’s victory over Edinburgh City, including recalls for Brian Kinnear in goals and a first start for Barry Cuddihy since August.
Clyde started off strongly in the early proceedings and had a chance to the lead when a corner found Robbie Leitch for an improvised shot but was saved well and tipped over the bar. It wasn’t long after when Taylor Sutherland found himself with the ball on the right side of the box. He dragged it to the edge and had a go from distance, but was unlucky as it went narrowly past the left hand side post.
At the midpoint of the first-half the hosts broke the deadlock when a low powerful effort from Seb Drozd found the bottom corner.
The Bully Wee were back on level terms on the stroke of the interval. A corner was swayed in but not properly cleared by a defender, allowing Kyle Fleming to see up Scott Williamson, who slashed a shot beyond Milosz Sliwinski in the Queen’s Park goal.
The Spiders found their second goal through Josh Fowler within two minutes of the restart, after he spun past Sam Campbell and found the back of the net.
As the game went on Clyde started to batter the hosts goal with attempts, Marley Redfern played a lovely ball through to Williamson to set him free but took a heavy touch and it was gathered by Sliwinski.
The Bully Wee threw the kitchen sink in search of an equaliser with Brian Kinnear popping up for stoppage time corners, getting his head on one at the front post but his former teammate Sliwinski kept it out.
