Sony Pictures Television Developing Miranda Lambert TV Series For Hulu; Judalina Neira Set As Showrunner

EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures Television is developing for Hulu an untitled Miranda Lambert project inspired by the country superstar’s music, with Judalina Neira set to showrun, write and exec produce under her overall deal with SPT.
Billed as Big Little Lies gone honky-tonk, the series follows a messy female friendship as one friend helps the other escape her abusive marriage. But when they try to start over in a small Texas town, their past will threaten to catch up to them, and they’ll discover their new home has as many secrets as they do.
Lambert will exec produce, along with Marion Kraft’s Shopkeeper Management, which reps the artist.
A three-time Grammy winner, Lambert will compete with four nominations at the 68th Grammys in February. She’s nominated for Best Contemporary Country Album for Postcards from Texas, Best Country Song (as a writer) for “A Song to Sing” and received noms for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for both “A Song to Sing” (with Chris Stapleton) and “Trailblazer” (with Reba McEntire & Lainey Wilson).
Lambert’s 10th solo studio album, Postcards from Texas, continued her streak of 10 consecutive Top 10s on the Top Country Albums chart. She is the most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music Awards history, has won 14 Country Music Association Awards and has been recognized as a TIME100 honoree. Lambert has earned seven No. 1 solo albums on the country chart, 10 No. 1 country singles and countless RIAA certifications. Lambert has blurred genres, including collaborations with the likes of Leon Bridges, the B-52s, Loretta Lynn, Enrique Iglesias, Sheryl Crow and Elle King. She is repped by WME and Shopkeeper Management.
Neira also is developing a Bewitched reimagining for Fox, which she’ll write and exec produce alongside Doug Robinson and Lauren Moffat of Doug Robinson Productions. Most recently serving as exec producer on Seasons 4 and 5 of The Boys, as well as on The Horror of Dolores Roach — both for Prime Video — she’s also worked on The Morning Show for Apple TV, Gen V for Prime Video and The Flash for The CW. She earned her first Emmy nomination for her work as a supervising producer on Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & The Six in 2023. Neira is graduate of the 2023 WGA Showrunner Training Program; an alumnus of the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Series Scriptwriters Program; a Governor Emeritus of The Television Academy’s Writers Peer Group; and co-founder of La Lista, a networking group for working Latina television writers. She is repped by Kaplan/Stahler, Kaplan/Perrone and attorney David Hiller.
