CHICAGO — Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been ruled out of Saturday night’s game against the Chicago Bears after suffering a concussion in the second quarter on a helmet-to-helmet hit from defensive lineman Austin Booker.

Love jogged off the field to boos from the Soldier Field crowd and was briefly examined in the sideline medical tent before walking to the locker room with a member of the medical staff. The Packers later announced on social media that he was being evaluated for a concussion.

Love’s injury occurred on a first-and-10 from the Packers’ 17-yard line, the third play of an eventual 16-play, 91-yard field-goal drive led by backup quarterback Malik Willis. Love has not suffered a documented concussion in his six NFL seasons.

Willis has looked like one of the NFL’s best backup quarterbacks during his time filling in for Love over the past two seasons. He has completed 44 of 60 passes (73.3 percent) for 569 yards and four touchdown passes to go along with 27 carries for 175 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
