Frigid start to Friday with wind chills in single digits, negatives ahead of quiet weekend

PORTLAND (WGME) — Brrrr! Maine is dealing with a frigid Friday as wind chills linger in the negatives areawide.
Get ready for cold conditions in general on Friday before a possible mixed precipitation event to start next week.
Sun will start off our Friday before clouds filter in towards sunset. Air temperatures will run in the teens near 20 degrees.
A northerly wind will keep us quite cold throughout Friday as wind chills fall to the negatives areawide to start the day.
Wind chills, or feel-like temperatures, will sit in the single digits beyond the morning hours. Winds will settle down at points in the afternoon.
Again, these wind chills repeat on Saturday.
Saturday will feature similar temperatures overall to Friday.

As mentioned above, Saturday will again start out cold in the morning with sun and clouds on tap.
Sunday will feel a tad bit warmer air-wise, with temps in the low 30s.
Saturday morning will feature snow for much of southern New England and southern New Hampshire. Snow should clear up by around 7 AM Saturday.
Clouds increase throughout Sunday ahead of a possible mixed precipitation event on Monday.
The coast will primarily be rain with mixed precipitation and snow inland/mountains. Stay tuned.
