Glen Powell Just Arrived at the Golden Globes in a Midnight Blue Tux

Glen Powell is back at the Golden Globes, and for the second year in a row, he’s a nominee. In 2025, Powell was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy for his leading role in Hit Man. This time, he’s on the small screen side, up for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series—Musical or Comedy for his work in Chad Powers.

“The reality is I’ve never considered myself to be the most talented person,” he told Vanity Fair in November. “I never felt like I was the guy that showed up and could nail it. But I knew that I was always the guy that was going to outwork the person next to me, and no one would ever outwork me.”

The Hulu series, which Powell co-wrote, executive produced, and leads, follows an overconfident college quarterback whose celebratory end zone dance during a national title game sends him into viral notoriety. Years later, he attempts a comeback by posing as a walk-on player for a struggling football team. The series, which has already been renewed for a second season, is loosely inspired by a viral sketch from Eli Manning’s Eli’s Places on ESPN+, an unscripted series that follows the former New York Giants quarterback as he delves into college football’s biggest traditions by meeting coaches, players, and other personalities.
“If you look at Chad Powers, it is a contemplation on masculinity, right? It’s a guy who we were putting in the most masculine arena there is. And having a guy make a mistake,” Powell told GQ in September. “What a normal, well-adjusted man would do, who is actually confident and not insecure, would just be to say, ‘I’m sorry.’ He would say, ‘I made a mistake,’ and move on. He doesn’t have that ability. So he keeps doubling down. He takes zero accountability, doubles down on these bad habits, and goes to the furthest lengths to not say, ‘I’m sorry.’”

Powell arrived at the 2026 Golden Globes dressed in a midnight blue Brunello Cucinelli suit with a cummerbund and velvet blazer along with a pair of retro sunglasses. This isn’t Powell’s first visit to the Globes. In years past, Powell has usually stuck to an archetypal red carpet menswear look, often a classic tuxedo, as he did in 2023 in a suit by Brioni.

In 2025, Powell mixed it up ever-so-slightly with what T&C eventually deemed one of the best menswear looks of the night in a custom Giorgio Armani suit, David Yurman jewelry, and Oliver Peoples sunglasses.
